I have very mixed feelings about Zach getting involved with the Arthritis Foundation. Not that he needs my permission or anything, but I feel like he would not be a fan of their shady practices over the last several years. I and my family volunteered with them for years, sometimes at pretty high levels. We used to have a local chapter that had a pretty big community, but the staff kept quitting because working for the Foundation was so rough and they refused to have enough positions to properly staff the chapter. It was eventually closed, and that was after staff from several hours away had to travel to run our chapter's events. This has happened to so many chapters all over the country. They clearly favored volunteers who fundraised the big bucks over volunteers who helped in other ways, like my family and I did. We devoted hundreds of hours to helping run events. We did a lot of lobbying with them, and I even represented the Arthritis Foundation at a federal briefing a few years ago. I was forced out of volunteering after that, presumably because I wasn't fundraising (the briefing was a success btw). The former CEO was regarded as an antagonistic bi*ch by almost everyone who interacted with her, and the current CEO has not made many positive changes to fix the damage she did. My biggest issue with the Arthritis Foundation, however, is how ableist they are. Their slogan is (and has been for a long time) "Champion of Yes!" This aligns with how they only value participants who have been able to "overcome" their arthritis, and while I wholeheartedly agree that we need to find a cure for arthritis, it will not be done by patients following the bootstraps rhetoric. I realize that this is not the only kind of story that people have from working with the Arthritis Foundation, but I am far from the only person I know who have been burned, including people who were steadfast for many years. I guess my point in all this, if Zach happens to see this or for anyone else wanting to get involved, just be careful.

Story time: this episode made me cry. I was just chilling in my car on my second lunch cause I'm work a 12 hour day and I'm hourly and I heard Zach say "...the walk to cure arthritis..." and I shit you not I- out loud -said "CURE???" with a small crack in my voice as my eyes welled with tears. I never even considered a cure as I am 22 with arthritis and my dad is 50 and he's had arthritis since he was my age. I thought it was just one of those things. I didn't think...I never even HOPED...I just...wow...to think they could cure it is probably the best thought I've had in a long time. Thanks Zach.

So glad I made the cutoff for the fan club

Champagne is not pickled it's double fermented with a specific yeast, second fermentation developed by veuve clicquot removing (can't spell this sounds like the toilet paper brand) charmont(dead yeast of first fermentation) and clarifying the champagne. It is not anything similar to a pickle. You're welcome 😅
